During her career, Joy recorded an award-winning CD of Jazz Standards with Betty Loo Taylor that won a Na Hoku Hanohano in 2008. Born and raised in Wahiawa as Joy Valderrama, graduating from Punahou School, Joy attended Temple University, earning her bachelor's degree in education and studied educational psychology as a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania. After college, Joy stayed in Philadelphia performing fulltime where she met the love of her life, the legendary Broadway producer, director, playwright and actor, George Abbott. George Abbott was the creative genius behind classic musicals such as The Pajama Game and Damn Yankees, winner of multiple Tony Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and later the Kennedy Center Lifetime Achievement Award. George and Joy shared 46 years of their life together until his passing at the age of 107. Don't miss an evening of joyful entertainment with Joy Abbott accompanied by Jim Howard and John Kolivas. A "BoJac" Production.
